Graduate Credit

*The opportunity below is only available to Summer 2023 CSAwesome Professional Development participants. APPLY BY AUGUST 18, 2023.*

Mobile CSP and CSAwesome are now a part of the Computer Science Education certificate offered at the College of St. Scholastica and can be taken for graduate credit directly through the college. Completing this graduate course is optional. Teachers do not need to complete graduate credit to participate in our offered professional development. The 3 credit option described below can be substituted for EDU 6730 Programming and Teaching Java course.

Time Commitment: 40 - 45 hours per credit

Coursework Outline

1 Credit
Prerequisite: Receive a CSAwesome certificate of participation for the Immersion (45 hour) PD
-Students will reflect upon their summer professional development experiences (2-3 pages)
2 Credits
Prerequisite: Receive a CSAwesome certificate of participation for the Extended (65 hour) PD
-Students will reflect upon their summer professional development experiences (2-3 pages)-Students will complete an Applying Your Professional Learning Assignment
3 Credits 
Prerequisite: Receive a CSAwesome certificate of participation for the Extended (65 hour) PD
-Students will reflect upon their summer professional development experiences (2-3 pages)-Students will complete an Applying Your Professional Learning Assignment-Students will conduct a review of literature on a relevant CS Education Research topic (5-10 pages)-Students will complete at least 80% of the CSAwesome coursework in Runestone (Units 1-10 only).

If you are seeking graduate credit for use as CEUs/CPDUs/Clock Hours, please check your state's Department of Education approved provider list and requirements.
